6 K Sytle gutter profile (1)
  • 6” K-Style Gutters – Designed for larger single roofs or any standing seam metal roof, these gutters work well with 3”x4” or 4” round downspouts to handle higher water flow.
7 k Style gutter profile
  • 7” K-Style Gutters – Best suited for very large roofs or certain tile roofs, these gutters can be paired with 3”x4”, 4” round, or 4”x5” downspouts for maximum drainage capacity.

Old World Rain Gutter Style

  • 6” Half-Round Gutters – A classic choice for homes with a European or early American design, half-round gutters offer a more aesthetically pleasing look. However, they are less efficient at draining water and require more downspouts than other styles. They are paired with 4” round downspouts for optimal performance.

Choice of Materials

New Project (1)

Traditional Painted Aluminum Gutters

Painted aluminum is the most popular and economical gutter material, offering over 25 color options to complement any home’s exterior.

For homeowners looking for a seamless color match, all available gutter colors can be found at Sherwin-Williams, where they can mix paint to match for fascia boards, trim, or other exterior elements.

This versatile and cost-effective option ensures both durability and aesthetic appeal, making it a top choice for most homes.

Galvalume Gutters

Crafted from 26-gauge Galvalume steel, this premium material is a durable blend of aluminum and zinc, offering exceptional corrosion resistance and longevity.

Galvalume gutters feature a classic, bare silver-metal appearance, reminiscent of historic American farmhouses and barns—a perfect choice for homeowners seeking a timeless, rustic aesthetic.

As a premium metal option, Galvalume does come at a higher cost compared to painted aluminum, but its strength and unique look make it a worthwhile investment for those prioritizing durability and vintage charm.

Copper Gutters

Copper gutters are one of the most elegant design options for an exterior accent, adding a timeless, high-end appeal to any home. Known for their exceptional corrosion resistance, copper gutters can last over 100 years, often outliving the structures they are attached to.

A popular choice for Old World-style homes and historic architecture, copper develops a rich, natural patina over time. However, Central Texas' climate does not produce the iconic green patina seen in other regions, such as on the Statue of Liberty. Even century-old copper gutters in this area tend to retain a more subtle, weathered look rather than a full verdigris finish.

As a premium material, copper is significantly more expensive than other gutter options, but for those seeking unmatched longevity and classic beauty, it remains an investment in both function and style.

Commercial Non-Seamless Steel Gutter

Designed for durability, commercial gutters are fabricated from the same high-quality steel used for standing seam metal roofs. These gutters are formed using a 10-foot metal brake, resulting in 10-foot sections that must be seamed together. The standard width is 6 inches, but custom dimensions can be fabricated based on design specifications.

These gutters are typically paired with 4”x4” steel box downspouts for efficient drainage.

CONSIDERATIONS
While commercial steel gutters offer strength and longevity, potential drawbacks include the risk of leaks at seams and a higher cost compared to seamless alternatives.

Leaf Protection

When selecting leaf protection, it's important to understand that all rain gutters require some level of maintenance, regardless of the type of leaf guard used or the amount spent. However, installing a leaf protection system can significantly reduce the frequency and effort required for maintenance.

New Project (7)

Standard Leaf Screen

Made from powder-coated steel expanded screen, this is an economical and effective option for preventing most leaves and debris from clogging your gutters. While some debris may accumulate on top of the screen over time, this is a possibility with all types of leaf protection systems.

New Project (6)

Micro Mesh Leaf Guard

Constructed with a stainless steel fine mesh and a heavy-duty aluminum body, micro mesh leaf guards offer premium protection by preventing virtually all debris from entering the gutter system. While they come at a higher price point, they are highly recommended for any rain gutter system connected to a rain harvesting setup, as they serve as a first-stage filter in the collection process.

However, two potential drawbacks to consider are cost and the possibility of the fine mesh becoming clogged with pollen or dust, which can cause water to run off the guard instead of entering the gutters.

Rain Chains

rain chain is a decorative alternative to a traditional downspout, adding a unique touch to your home’s exterior. With endless design options available at a wide range of price points, there’s a rain chain to fit every budget.

However, it’s important to note that rain chains can cause water splashing and should be strategically placed to minimize this effect. They are typically installed on shorter gutter sections under smaller roof areas to help control water flow.

At Williamson Gutters, we do not supply rain chains, but we are happy to install them for free if they are on-site and pre-assembled on the day of your gutter installation. If assembly is required, an assembly fee will apply.
